The Green Corridor - Part 2

Wanted to windsurf today, but upon checking with windguru.com realised it's not a good day for sailing. So decided to bring my Silverback MTB for her 2nd outing. Z injured his elbow so didn't call him this time.... old already must recuperate more! :P

Bicycle fuel efficiency....0L/km
Breakfast! When you see my helmet, gloves, prata and coffee, you know it's gonna get serious!

Cycled by Bukit Brown, the largest Chinese cemetery in the world outside China. When humans are alive, we are at the top of the food chain, with an abundance of natural resources at our disposal. After we die, we become just a minute, insignificant part of nature. Nature wins.

First stop, Ridout Tea Garden, formerly known as Queenstown Japanese Garden.

"What Sunday morning chillax? I do this everyday!"

"Let's race, without the hare!"

Went back to the part of the Green Corridor where we left off last time, near Buona Vista mrt station.

The father, the kids and the dogs.

Hey old place, missed you yesterday! I'm back! Bukit Timah Railway Station, this is another conserved building, at least it is open on weekends. It used to be a place where an interesting exchange of tokens will take place between the train driver and the station master, a manual way of ensuring no collision of trains in the same section of the track.

Remnants of the railway track. The rest of the track has been returned to Malaysia.

Approaching the railway bridge over Bukit Timah Road.

Following behind a fellow cyclist.

Sunday crowd at Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. It's good that people come here for recreation.

Good morning Hindhede Nature Park Quarry, you look more calm than yesterday. :)

The ripple is caused by 2 photographers who threw bread into the water....to lure fish to eat....to lure the kingfisher to swoop in for the catch.....to take a shot of the kingfisher in action!

Butterfly on the floor.

Can you spot the web? And the tiny spider?

What flower/berry is this??

Into the unknown trail....

Bats colony! Hanging upside down under BKE.

There was a time hen running a full loop around Macritchie Reservoir (10.5km) was an almost weekly affair. Miss those days!

End of Green Corridor Part 2.

Wash and dry(ing). The hardest part of the journey!
